Sony A77 and floods in Thailand

Some time ago I was on the offical presentation of Sony a65/a77 and NEX-5n/7. I had some time to play with the pre-production models. So It is decided.

My next camera will be A77 with 16-50mm F2.8 lens. I have some connections with the importers. I think the camera is ordered and I am waiting for it

New cameras from Sony

Sony announced two new Alpha SLT models, two new mirrorless NEX cameras, VG-20 camcorder and four new lenses.

The new Alphas (SLT-A65 and SLT-A77) are using the Translucent Mirror technology with new 24.3 Megapixel CMOS sensor. The video capabilities, EVF and backside display are the same

I’m interested in the video capabilities of the Alphas. They have manual controls for video but not for audio. Only auto gain.

The new mirrorless NEX cameras are NEX-5n and NEX-7, which complement NEX-C3.

NEX-5n is with 16.1 Mp CMOS sensor, ISO 100-25600, 10 fps, touch screen, Auto ISO to 3200. The price in USA with 18-55 kit lens is $700.

NEX-7 is the flagship with 24.3 Mp sensor (the same from the new Alphas). The body is made from magnesium alloy and the weight is approx. 291g (camera body only).

The video capabilities of the NEX-5n and NEX-7 are the same like SLT-A65 and SLT-77. They record at AVCHD 2.0 and don’t have manual audio controls, only auto gain.
